Press
For Press and Media
To everyone in the press and media: we would be delighted for you to carry the shibori culture of Arimatsu and Narumi, and what the town is doing, to your readers and viewers. Please get in touch below to discuss coverage or to request assets.
About the project
ARIMATSU MEGURI is an experience-and-ticket project for the Arimatsu and Narumi area, operated under contract as part of the Historic Districts PR Program of the City of Nagoya. Arimatsu and Narumi flourished as post towns on the Tokaido (historical highway), and their streets are still lined with plaster-walled merchant houses and the working studios of Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori, known throughout Japan.
The project weaves the appeal of this place into four pillars — shibori, tours, dialogue and food — and opens it up as a route that invites people to visit, take part, and want to come back. It runs from Saturday 19 September to Sunday 6 December 2026. Aki no Arimatsu Meguri is organised by the City of Nagoya and Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. (Meitetsu), and the experience programmes are operated by Arimatsu Chushin Yamori LLC (managing director: Kakeru Asano).
During this period the experiences are designed to be enjoyed alongside the Arimatsu Osanpo Kippu, a round-trip ticket issued and sold by Nagoya Railroad. Bookings and payment for the experience programmes are taken on this site; the ticket itself is not sold here.
For more on the background to the project and how it is run, please see About This Project.
Requesting coverage
To discuss interviews, filming or photography, or a written feature, please use our contact form. Select "Press and media" as the type of enquiry and tell us your outlet, an outline of the piece, when you expect to publish or broadcast, and what you would like to cover — that lets us come back to you quickly.
If you would like to shoot on location or cover an experience program, we need to check when programs are running and coordinate with the people involved, so we would be grateful if you could contact us well in advance.
