About this experience

What you will be doing.

Do you assume that Arimatsu shibori means indigo-dyed cotton goods? In fact it comes in a wide range of materials, colours and shapes.

You walk with staff from Arimatsu Chushin Yamori LLC, who have been working in Arimatsu for eight years, looking at what makes each brand distinctive and talking as you go. You may even hear the stories behind how a piece came to be made.

We meet at the entrance of the Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori Kaikan (Shibori Museum). Three or four of the brands with shops in Arimatsu are then chosen according to what interests the group on the day.
